CFO-level financial leadership and strategic advisory for businesses navigating complex international markets. Renewable energy, mobility, technology, and trade.
Start a conversationGregory Arthur has spent his career at intersections most people never find.
In 2005, at Middlebury College — home to one of the most respected language programs in the United States, trusted by government institutions and elite universities alike — he chose Mandarin Chinese at a time when almost no Latin American students were doing so. He was the only Venezuelan in the program. Less a curriculum choice than a conviction about where the world was heading.
That conviction took him to China for immersion semesters in Beijing and Hangzhou, earning a certificate from Zhejiang University of Technology — living the language rather than merely studying it.
His first role was at SinoLatin Capital in Shanghai, one of the first firms bridging Chinese and Latin American capital markets — pitching directly to Chinese state-owned enterprises in Mandarin at a time when China–Latin America deal flow was just beginning to take shape.
He then joined Ford Motor Company’s Asia Pacific headquarters in Shanghai in 2012, where Ford had assembled some of its brightest global finance talent. That environment became his training ground for large-scale financial governance across eleven markets.
Envision Energy approached him to build their Latin American finance function from scratch — recognizing his rare combination of Chinese fluency, Latin American market knowledge, and corporate finance depth. Over seven years he built a full CFO-level operation spanning sixteen legal entities across Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
In 2021, mid-career and already operating at the highest level, he was selected for Stanford University Graduate School of Business’s Emerging CFO program — a deliberate investment in the leadership dimension that separates great CFOs from good ones.
Arthur Behrens is the natural next chapter — a practice built for companies navigating the financial complexity of cross-border growth between China, Latin America, and the United States. Gregory offers fractional CFO leadership, transaction advisory, capital raising support, and government and delegation development to businesses that need more than a financial advisor — they need someone who has operated in these markets, speaks the languages, and understands the cultures from the inside. If you are navigating that corridor, Gregory has been there before.
Arthur Behrens works with a select number of clients at any given time. If you're navigating international expansion, fundraising, or financial complexity — we'd like to hear from you.
